About this place

The War Memorial of Korea, opened in 1994 on the former site of Army Headquarters in Yongsan, is Asia's largest war history museum and stands as a solemn tribute to those who gave their lives in defence of the country. Six indoor exhibition halls — including the War History Hall, Korean War Hall, and Overseas Dispatch Hall — display approximately 10,000 artefacts from a collection of over 33,000 items, while the sprawling outdoor exhibition area showcases tanks, fighter jets, and artillery from the Korean War and beyond. Immersive experiences such as the Incheon Landing 4D Theater bring history to life for all ages. Admission is free and the museum is a five-minute walk from Samgakji Station (Metro lines 4 and 6, Exit 12).
