About this place
Operated by the Samsung Foundation of Culture, Leeum Museum of Art is defined by three architecturally distinct buildings designed by Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel, and Rem Koolhaas. Museum 1 is devoted to traditional Korean art including celadon ceramics, Buddhist paintings, and metalwork, while Museum 2 presents modern and contemporary Korean and international works. Louise Bourgeois's monumental spider sculpture Maman greets visitors at the entrance, setting the tone for a world-class art experience in the hillside Hannam-dong neighborhood.
