About this place
Itaewon is Seoul's first designated tourism special zone, established in 1997, and home to over 20,000 foreign residents from around the world. The area is known for its eclectic mix of custom leather goods, boutique clothing, and antique furniture shops, as well as a World Food Street featuring restaurants from over 40 countries. The main strip running from Itaewon Station toward Bogwang-ro buzzes with activity around the clock, drawing both international visitors and locals. Its genuine multicultural character — shaped by decades of coexistence between Korean and expatriate communities — sets it apart from other commercial districts in Seoul.
