About this place

Gyeonghuigung Palace is a representative secondary palace of the late Joseon Dynasty, situated on the western side of the capital and historically known as the "Western Palace." Construction began in 1617, and several kings including Yeongjo spent extended periods here; key structures such as Heunghwamun Gate and Sungjeongjeon Hall have been restored. The Seoul Museum of History is located within the palace grounds, making it a quiet historic palace where visitors can enjoy both history and culture together.
